Temecula, California - Place of the Sun
Temecula's history is deeply rooted in a Rural Farming and Ranching Lifestyle. If our trails could talk, they would tell a tale of cowboys on horseback driving cattle thru the mist of the valley. Cowboys who rode the dusty trail routes traveled by our Native Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians, church missionaries, hopeful California Gold Rush immigrants and tired passengers aboard the Butterfield Stage line. Today's Temecula remains a special place where despite busy modern-day life, these same Rural Lifestyles continue to flourish. It is a place where families can settle, or just come for a visit. A place to relax and enjoy the many aspects of our beloved community, while surrounded by mountains high and a countryside framed by beautiful vineyards.
Horsewomen of Temecula Wine Country, is a parade entry composed of the award-winning Temecula Cowgirl Color Guard Team, along with the Temecula Carriage Company and many City of Temecula 2020 Leading Ladies! We strive to represent the many determined men and women, living within our community, whose love of country and pride of city compels us to unite our efforts to preserve our region's Rural Heritage. Together, we are working to promote and preserve our fertile valley's Farming and Ranching Lifestyles. We are following in the footsteps of those who have come before us, continuing their work to ensure Rural Lifestyles for the next generation. Many of us are are choosing to live an Equestrian Lifestyle, working within our community of concerned horse owners to keep trail easements protected for public use. Our wagon-train of successful female community leaders is proof that in Riverside County's Temecula the POWER OF HOPE, HARD WORK and AMBITION can lead to realized dreams for everyone. We strive to encourage the next generation to follow our lead by one day taking over the reins of Community Stewardship.
Our Goal - Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade
We have set a goal to enter the competition for a coveted Equestrian Entry in the Pasadena California Tournament of Roses Parade. The theme of the 2020 Rose Parade is THE POWER OF HOPE. Our Temecula Cowgirl Color Guard Team has worked hard to win an impressive number of parade awards over the course of many years, as has the Temecula Carriage Company's professionally driven horse-drawn wagons, trolley and carriages. Partnered with our Community Leaders, it is truly "The Power of Hope" which compels us to meet the challenges of this very competitive process. If accepted, Equestrian entries must also commit to perform at the Equestfest Horse Show on December 29th, staying for the better part of the week at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center for rehearsals. These travel expenses for our members and horses would be our most expensive costs, second to that of the real flowers required to decorate our horses and wagon. We intend to put on a WILD WEST SHOW at the Equestfest Horse Show that will WOW their annual sold-out crowd! Our mounted color guard riders, hitch wagon and local Professional Wild West Show Entertainer, Judy Taylor, will surely delight the crowd as we sing and perform!
On January 1, 2020 it is our HOPE and DREAM to proudly travel down Colorado Boulevard as a modern-day wagon train of "Cowgirl Tough" Horsewomen of Temecula Wine Country. For our city this would be a wonderful thing, an estimated 50 million parade viewers will surely be putting our beloved Temecula Valley Wine Country on their radar as a community that supports living Rural Lifestyles. Thank you in advance for your consideration to contribute to our fund-raising efforts.
